Child Care Home
About Child Care Home
The Child Care Home (CCH) program by Education Development and Services (EDAS) operates 16 learning centers within the Rohingya refugee camps, supporting over 4,296 children, including 250 orphans. These centers provide non-formal education, basic literacy, numeracy, life skills, and language instruction in a safe and nurturing environment. Beyond academics, EDAS ensures access to food distribution, hygiene kits, seasonal clothing, and extracurricular activities like sports, arts, and cultural programs to promote well-rounded development.
Designed as safe spaces for healing and growth, the CCH centers also offer trauma-informed psychological support, moral teaching, and community engagement. Through this initiative, EDAS not only supports children’s emotional and cognitive development but also relieves caregiving pressure on vulnerable mothers and guardians. The program stands as a beacon of hope, restoring dignity and stability in the lives of displaced children and helping them grow into confident, compassionate individuals.

Success Story
“Before I came here, I didn’t know how to smile. Now I laugh with my friends every day.” — Rima
From Despair to Hope: Rima’s Journey
Rima, a 9-year-old Rohingya girl, lost her father during the displacement crisis and struggled with extreme trauma. She enrolled in EDAS’s Child Care Home at Camp 9 two years ago. Initially withdrawn and fearful, Rima gradually opened up through art classes, group play, and regular counseling. Today, she’s not only thriving in her studies but also leads her class in cultural programs. Her dream is to become a teacher and help other girls like her.
